While sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) that is food grade loses its chemical leavening power (ability to make foods rise) six to 12 months after opening, its properties that make it great for cleaning such as it’s alkalinity and slightly abrasive texture remain for the life of the product. (The baking soda we sell is cleaning grade only and not for consumption).
We do recommend keeping the lid on your shaker tube (for the Carpet Sprinkle) when not in use, as well as moving your baking soda from it’s brown paper bag into a sealed container upon delivery (like a glass jar or similar), this helps to avoid the baking soda clumping.
Lavender oil is the component of our product that delivers the beautiful aroma after being applied to your carpet, however to achieve the longevity of the oil and retention of it’s aroma, it is important that it is kept in a cool, dark, place with it’s lid on. This stops chemical degradation via oxidation, from heat, light, and oxygen. Oxidation will cause the oil to lose it’s aroma and therapeutic qualities faster.
Therefore we recommend storing our products in a cool, dry place with the lid on.

The Lavender Oil that we use for Soda Club products is grown and distilled here in New Zealand, it is 100% pure, non-GMO (GM/GE free) and has absolutely no carriers or anything extra added. It has consistently low levels of allergens, making it a low irritant product.
Used in tandem with sodium bicarbonate, we have created a product that is highly effective in deoderising your carpet while leaving behind the calming and grounding scent of lavender.

The percentage of Lavender Oil in our products does not trigger a hazard classification, however the below is included here as extra information.
Lavender Oil does contain naturally occurring components that can cause skin sensitivity in those prone to this, these components are Linalool, Limonene and Geraniol. While the Lavender Oil that we use is particularly low in these allergens, (consistently producing lower levels of Linalool than other cultivars around the world, it also has low levels of Limonene, and does not contain any Geraniot). It still has the potential to cause skin sensitivity in those susceptible to this. If skin sensitivity does occur, please stop use, wash with cold water and seek medical attention.
Discuss use with a healthcare practitioner before use during pregnancy or while nursing.

Yep! However as when vacuuming up any substance, you do need to take care of your vacuum when using this product. We recommend checking your vacuum requirements before use, and protect your vacuum by using a new or empty vacuum bag, and emptying this again afterward.
If your vacuum is bagless, please check the operating requirements before using with any powdered carpet deoderiser.
